Uniting and nurturing the spirit and health of women through the power of sport.
“Sport is the unity, what flourishes is limited only by your imagination”
Future Goals: As we fulfill our personal goals in life, health and well being, NWLB supports the journey with strength, wisdom and camaraderie of like-minded women. In the future, we envision this becoming much more...
Skill Level: Since our group has continued to grow and get faster, the time has come to make a change. We will still stay true to the reason the group was created and that was to encourage, and support females that really want to ride, want to learn how to ride in a group, and do not want to get left behind by a hammerhead ride – NO WOMAN LEFT BEHIND. The good news….. our group has grown because of this consistency and support from each other. We now have enough gals show up weekly, we will have two groups starting approximately five minutes apart. Ending up at the same spot is still our mission along with NO WOMAN LEFT BEHIND. When 15 or more gals show up for the ride, we will break into these two groups. We will assign a lead person and a sweeper to each group. Within each group , we will regroup once, and then complete the ride and have breakfast – my favorite part. This change will also help support the many gals that are or will be participating in races/events, and have a need for speed or distance in their training program. As always, if you have to leave early, turn around, or just realize it’s not your day – make someone in the group aware of your departure. NO WOMAN LEFT BEHIND is our goal…. This doesn’t mean we are perfect, but we try to be and have had a pretty good success rate. Also, several have asked others to join the ride, and you have stayed with them on the ride – that’s great for the first couple of rides to help them adjust to the group. If cyclists are unable to maintain a minimum of 16 MPH – they most likely are new to cycling and should focus on building strength before deciding to ride in a group. We have seen many new faces, and I want to thank everyone for the support of these riders. A special thanks to the seasoned riders for sharing your knowledge and abilities throughout the ride.
****We welcome all women, but encourage you to find out your average speed and be able to maintain no less than 16 MPH. Our goal is to reach 30 miles or more every ride.****
